London 2017

London 2017

In the days 13th – 16th of June 2017 we took part in school trip to London. On Tuesday, we met at the airport in Bratislava in the early morning and started our London experience together with three teachers and two delegates. Afer arriving at the airport in London, we travelled by bus and underground to the hotel in Gants Hill. Hotel, which was only few-minutes far from the underground, was very pleasant. On the first day, we visited The Tower of London and Tower Bridge, where we had the opportunity of listening about their history. Then, we travelled by ship to Greenwich – on the zero meridian. The second day, the guard mounting at the Buckingham Palace awaited us and we had also the fortune to see the English Queen Elizabeth II. Our London experience continued on the way to Westminster as we saw Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and London Eye. National Gallery on Trafalgar Square amazed many of us with works of Da Vinci, Van Gogh and many others. From there we moved by bus to the Cathedral of St. Paul and enjoyed the panorama of London. Our third day task was to choose five places we would like to visit. After all directions we moved individually along determined places during four-hours parting. After the presentation in British Museum, we enjoyed the shopping and dinner in Camden Town. The best of us, who visited all five places on time and found out as much information about them as possible, won the night tour of London. The women´s part of our expedition looked forward the last day the most. We spent our time in the most renowned part of London – Oxford Street.
The aim of this trip was to get knowledge of the realia of England, to visit cultural and historical monuments, to develop our language and communication skills in everyday situations and to experience and travel in London.
